Kia Original Logo - 1944 to 1964
Kia started back in 1944 as a bicycle parts manufacturer. Their original logo displayed the tips of three diamonds placed at triangular vertices with a gear in the center around the word KIA.
Kia Q Logo - 1964 to 1986
The first Kia trucks hit the market in 1962, but it wasn't until 1974 that the company introduced its first car. These vehicles were branded with a logo that looked like an inverted letter Q in green. However, Kia had to shut down automotive production between 1981 and 1986.
Kia Flying Banner Logo - 1986 to 1994
In partnership with Ford, Kia re-entered the car market in 1986 and delivered budget-friendly cars such as Kia Pride and Avella. They also launched a new banner with a stylized version of their name and what looked like a flying banner over letters.
Kia Red Oval Logo - 1994 to 2012
Did you know that the Kia Sportage is one of the most popular SUVs on the road? The 1994 Sportage was the first 4x4 Kia model to hit the U.S. market. Around the same time, Kia unveiled its latest logo, a red oval surrounding the name Kia centered on a white background.
Kia Red Oval Logo Revamped - 2012 to 2021
In 2021, after years of consecutive expansion and growing market share, the Kia logo received a much-deserved, yet subtle, change with bolder letters, sharper lines, and brighter colors.
Kia KИ Logo - 2021 to Present
Since 2021 new Kia vehicles have been displaying their latest logo with an oblique A, a stylized mark that reads KИ and resembles the letters KN. According to Kia, "The new logo stands for 'Symmetry,' 'Rhythm,' and 'Rising' and embodies Kia's determination to lead change and innovation."
