2027 Kia EV3 Driving Range & Charging

Open the charge door on the all-new 2027 Kia EV3 and you find a native NACS port, standard on all five trims. This page covers that port and the battery behind it: how far each version goes on a charge and how long a refill takes.

Ocala drivers rack up highway miles on I-75, US-27, US-301 and SR-200, often in serious Florida heat. Below, Jenkins Kia of Ocala lays out the EPA estimates, Kia's charging times and the efficiency features, with Kia's conditions attached.

Battery size and drivetrain set the range rating on a 2027 Kia EV3. The Light pairs a 58.3 kWh battery with front-wheel drive for up to an EPA-estimated 221 miles. Choose a Wind FWD or Land FWD, with the 81.4 kWh battery, and the rating becomes up to an EPA-estimated 321 miles.

Every all-wheel-drive EV3, meaning the Wind AWD, Land AWD, GT-Line and GT, carries up to an EPA-estimated 280 miles. Kia adds that actual range will vary with options, driving habits, charging practice, battery age, weather and temperature, among other factors, and that battery capacity decreases with time and use.

  • Light FWD: EPA-estimated 127/103/115 MPGe city/highway/combined
  • Wind FWD and Land FWD: 117 MPGe combined, EPA-estimated
  • Every AWD model, GT included: 103 MPGe combined, EPA-estimated
  • EPA-estimated 29 kWh/100 mi with FWD, 33 kWh/100 mi with AWD
  • Range estimates assume a full battery charge, Kia notes

2027 Kia EV3 DC Fast Charging
V

The 2027 Kia EV3 sits on the 400V version of Kia's Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), with an energy-dense battery built for fast charging. Kia's approximate times for a 10-80% charge on a 350 kW DC fast charger are 31 minutes for the 81.4 kWh battery and 29 minutes for the Light, from Kia Corporation testing.

For road trips, Kia says the NACS port gives the EV3 access to more than 30,000 Tesla Superchargers. Plug & Charge comes standard and works at participating stations once the owner has an active Kia Connect subscription and is enrolled in Kia Charge Pass.

  • NACS port on the front passenger side, every trim
  • 350 kW times come from Kia testing on a GT AWD
  • 50 kW DC, 10-80%: 55 minutes for the Light, per Kia
  • Kia's 50 kW time for 81.4 kWh models: 79 minutes, 10-80%
  • Kia Charge Pass sign-up happens in the Kia Access app

2027 Kia EV3 Charging at Home
V

Every 2027 Kia EV3 has an 11.5 kW onboard charger, the part that handles AC charging at home. On 11 kW Level 2 equipment at 240V, Kia's approximate time for a 10-100% charge is 7 hours with the 81.4 kWh battery, and the Light needs 5 hours 10 minutes.

Kia notes that frequent DC fast charging can affect battery performance and recommends keeping it to a minimum, which makes home the natural place for routine charging. With a Kia Connect subscription, the Kia Access app can also pre-cool the cabin before a summer errand, though Kia advises against remote climate use in a closed garage.

  • Kia's Level 2 times assume 240V at 48 amps
  • Home figures run 10-100%; fast-charge figures run 10-80%
  • Standard portable cable works on 120V or 240V power
  • Alexa voice commands for Climate Control through Kia Connect
  • Remote pre-heating as well as pre-cooling, by subscription

Air slips past the 2027 Kia EV3 with a drag coefficient as low as 0.275, according to Kia. Every trim also has steering-wheel paddles for adjusting regenerative braking. The Wind AWD, Land AWD, GT-Line and GT add the Range-Preserving Heat Pump System, which Kia says can help preserve range in colder climates.

On the GT-Line and GT, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability can run compatible devices like campsite lighting or laptops until the charge falls to 20 percent, though Kia says separately sold equipment may be needed. Kia also offers Vehicle to Home (V2H) capability through a separately sold Wallbox bidirectional charging system, with an active Kia Connect subscription.

  • Active air flap built into the front bumper
  • Full underbody cover, aero wheels and more lightweight materials
  • Battery heater on every 81.4 kWh model
  • Outage backup through V2H also needs Wallbox's Power Recovery Unit
  • Eco mode in Drive Mode Select on every trim

Why Buy From Jenkins Kia of Ocala?

Choosing an EV3 comes down to a few practical calls: front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the 58.3 or 81.4 kWh battery, and how much V2L or a heat pump matters. Jenkins Kia of Ocala can help match those answers to a trim, and the contact page takes questions before a visit.

Plenty of the legwork can happen at home, too. The EV3 inventory page lists new EV3 models online, the credit application starts financing, and Value Your Trade puts a figure on the vehicle you drive now.
